Immigration Good News...
The Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) Classification Act is now law, helping protect immigrant youth in New Mexico. SIJ Status allows immigrant children/ youth (up to age 21) within the state who cannot reunify with one or both parents due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment to pursue lawful permanent residency. This law now aligns New Mexico state law with the SIJS federal statute
