“If You Are . . .” – Two stories of temptation—both based in the sowing of doubt. Genesis 2 tells of the Snake in the Garden asking the first woman, “What did God really say to you about that tree?” In the 3rd chapter of Matthew’s Gospel, the Devil of Doubt says to Jesus in the desert: “If you are really the Chosen One….” Like the first man and woman and like Jesus, we also live in the wilderness of our doubts. Like them we are not alone. That’s the first lesson the desert can teach us.
Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday in the 8:30 service. Childcare available.
