The Young Adventurers engage in fun and faithful programming. We gather each Sunday during the 11:00 worship service and events during the week.
Sunday, May 5 Bible Review
We've learned a lot this year! What do you remember about the Bible?
Sunday, May 12 Community Building
We will gather for a morning of games, laughter, and God's presence.
Sunday, May 19 Game Night at 6 pm
Bring your favorite card or board game. Also, bring $6 for pizza.
Sunday, May 26 What, Why, and Where is God?
We explore the ways 5th and 6th graders imagine and wonder about God.
Journey to Adulthood (7th and 8th grade)
Each Sunday the upcoming Youth Initiates meet at 9:45 am for the Journey to Adulthood program/Confirmation. We also gather for service, retreats, and community building. As the Initiates prepare for their retreat in May, we will spend time reading the Genesis, the psalms, and talking about God's beauty through creation.
Sunday, May 5 Beauty and Us (Using the Navajo Prayer)
Where do we find beauty, including our own lives?
Fri. - Sat. May 10-11 Ghost Ranch Retreat
Meet at United at 5 pm for our journey to Ghost Ranch. We will return to United at 5 pm on Saturday. Please contact Brandon for more information. Beauty, creation, and God - what more could you ask for?
Sunday, May 12 No Confirmation/Journey to Adulthood
Sun., May 19 Where did we start?
We look back at a year of transformation, growth, laughter, and God. Using Psalm 23 as our guide, we will laugh and reflect.
Sun., May 26 Where are we going?
Using the story of Sarah from Genesis we explore where God might be leading us (remember she laughed at the thought of God doing something new!).
High School Youth (9th-12th grade)
Our High School Group meets at different times to engage questions of faith, laugh with one another, and serve the wider community.
This month we will meet at Flying Star on Tuesdays from 5:00-6:30 pm. Come when you are able and leave when you must!
Sat., May 4 Youth Fusion Event Gravity Park in Albuquerque (Jr. High and High School)
The joint programming between United, St. John's United Methodist, Westminster, and First Presbyterian Churches continues this month with a trip to Albuquerque and Gravity Park. We will meet in United's parking lot at 10:00 am, travel to Albuquerque and return no later than 5 pm. Please bring $15 for the park and lunch. RSVP by contacting Brandon (988-3295).
